CLEANING SERVICES-GENERAL INFORMATION
EQUIPMENT-We work with truck mounted and portable
cleaning machines. We use our truck mounted cleaning equipment
whenever possible. There will be times when we can only clean with our
portable machines.
CARPET
CLEANING:
What type of carpet cleaning
process do we use? MCP uses the steam cleaning method. Steam cleaning is the cleaning method
most widely endorsed by major carpet manufacturers. Our truckmounted and portable cleaning machines use very
hot 200 degree water under high pressure which provides a very deep and
thorough cleaning, which is almost residue free and dries quickly. According to IICRC cleaning standards,
carpets should be professionally steam cleaned every 6 to 18 months, depending
on level of use. Cleaning is done for hygiene, health and appearance.
How do we charge for carpet
cleaning? We charge by the square
foot. You will only be charged
for the areas that we are cleaning.
Our cleaning rates vary from 26 to 64 cents per square foot, depending on
the condition of carpets and the services we are performing. To provide you with an accurate
quotation, we will need to see the work site in person. There is no charge for
quotations.
How long do carpets take to
dry? Carpets will dry
between 8-12 hours if cleaned by truckmount and 12-24 hours if cleaned by
portable machine. We will leave traffic
lane paper for you to walk on while carpets dry. Leave paper in place until carpets are
dry to the touch. Turning on your
central heating and leaving windows and doors cracked open while we clean will
also decrease dry time.
What is included in your
carpet cleaning process? Our carpet cleaning process includes the
following steps: pretreating spots
and stains, steam extraction, grooming carpet, and applying traffic lane paper
as required. We can also remove
and replace furniture, apply carpet protectant, apply
fiber rinse, and dust mite treatments depending on the cleaning package
we are providing.
Why do some spots and stains
reappear several days after cleaning? Some spots and stains reappear because
carpet fibers dry from bottom to top.
All spots and stains are pretreated prior to steam extraction; the stains that re-emerge are most
likely permanent. If you feel that
certain areas need to be touched up, we will make a free return visit, with no
questions asked. While cleaning,
MCP technicians will advise you of stains that they are unable to
remove.
UPHOLSTERY CLEANING
What cleaning methods do we
use for upholstery? MCP uses both dry and steam cleaning
methods to clean upholstery. Steam
cleaning provides better cleaning results, but some fabrics may brown or shrink
in the presence of water (silk, linen, etc.). Dry cleaning is more expensive, but is
absolutely safe for any type of fabric.
There are no water-based products used in the dry cleaning
process.
How do we charge for
cleaning upholstery? Our base rate for steam cleaning
upholstery is $10.00 per linear foot for sofas and love seats. Loose pillows and cushions are an
additional charge. If we need to
perform dry cleaning, there will also be an additional materials surcharge as
well. We do provide free written
quotations in person for all upholstery cleaning.
AREA RUG CLEANING-
How do we charge for area
rugs? We clean area rugs by the square
foot. Our rate for cleaning area
rugs varies between $1-$3 per square foot, depending on the style and condition
of the area rug. Rugs are cleaned
in the home where they sit-we will put a plastic tarp underneath as we clean or
clean them on your patio.
About 95% of rugs are steam
cleanable. Rugs which must be dry
cleaned (silk or vegetable dyed rugs) can also be cleaned in the
home.
What process do we use to
clean area rugs? About 90-95% of all area rugs that we
encounter can be safely steam cleaned with excellent results. We
can also dry clean area rugs if we need
to.
Where do you clean area
rugs? We clean area rugs where
they lay or on a back patio patio or open area.
DRAPERY/WINDOW TREATMENT
CLEANING
How do we clean draperies
and window treatments? We dry clean most draperies
and window treatments because of the chance of fabric shrinkage. They are cleaned on the window
where they hang. MCP offers a safer
and more convenient alternative to in-plant dry cleaning; there are no damage waivers to be
signed, and your window treatments will not be removed from your home for 5-7
days. We will place plastic tarps
over windows, walls, and floors to protect your home while we
clean.
FIBER
PROTECTANT APPLICATION (Scotchguarding)
How much does scotchguarding
cost? We charge for scotchguarding
by the linear length of an upholstery piece, or by the square foot for area rugs
and wall to wall carpeting.
What type of protectant do
you use? MCP uses a Teflon based
protectant made by DuPont. It is
very powerful and will not change the look or feel of your furnishings once it
is spray applied. Once applied,
this protectant takes about one day to dry and cure properly. It is applied with a one year spotting
warranty provided by MCP. This
protectant will withstand several professional cleanings.
Do you offer any type of
spotting warranty? Yes. MCP offers a one year spotting warranty
for one year from the date of fiber protectant application. If you spill something on a fiber
protected item and cannot blot it up immediately, MCP will come out to attempt
to remove that spot free of charge.
The
only types of spills that are not covered under our spotting warranty are vomit,
urine, feces or bleach spills.
